Mendolia Beach Hotel - Taormina

A személyzet segítőkész volt. A reggeli fantasztikus volt, finomabbnál finomabb süteményekkel. A szálloda tengerpari része nagyon kellemes. A szobák tengerre néznek, az erkélyről csodálatos a kilátás.

A parkolás meglehetősen drága. Egy közeli parkolóban a napi díj EUR 12,50 volt.

Loved the view to Isola Bella and the beach. Though we did not use the beach club, it is certainly a bonus to staying at Mendolia beach Hotel in the warmer months. Very helpful staff who made excellent recommendations to local restaurants. Wide choice for breakfast. Room was very comfortable and clean. Would certainly stay there again if I were to travel to that part of Sicily ever again.

No dislikes. Very satisfied.

Once past reception, which is small and unimpressive, the cleanliness and smartness strike you. The really good breakfast, use of the beach club, nearness of the cable car and really helpful staff make this a good value 3* hotel in a very expensive town.

The hotel was excellent with a beautiful view of the island in the bay. A good location for the beach (144 steps) and the cable car up to Taormina (3.5 euros return). Dario on the desk was really helpful and suggested some excellent restaurants and Mario who served breakfast was an amazing man who was always friendly and cheerful. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel looks new so the bathroom was very modern with an excellent shower and plenty of hot water. All in a great place.

Location is well and truly unbelievable the view and value from the rooms is amazing. The staff is so helpful.

The rooms are slightly outdated but for the viewand value for money definitely worth it. The car park is a fair work down a hill and around a corner with no footpaths and a blind corner. Not suitable if u have elderly ppl traveling with you.

The massage ladies on the beach were very annoying and persistent it would be the one thing to turn me off returning. . There were up to 12 of them on a small stretch of beach and you were pestered at least every 3 minutes.

The room (suite type) was huge as was the terrace. The staff were lovely. Angela who cleaned our room was very thorough. Mario who served the hot drinks at breakfast could not do enough for you and was very knowledgeable about trips etc. The views of the Isola Bella and surrounding hills/cliffs was breathtaking.

Excelent location, all rooms with Isola Bella views.The hotel is close to the beach and have beach facilities, good restaurants are in front of the hotel and the cable car is easy to reach within a short walk. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. A special thank to signore responsible for breakfast. The breakfast is very good with fresh fruits and traditional products like home made pasticeries. Great capucinno.

Excellent location, across the street there is a staircase on the beach. There's a cable car very close to the hotel, going up to the centre (3,5€ return ticket). I guess most of the rooms has a view to the sea and Isolla Bella which is great!

The suite of rooms that we had was very good. The view from the terrace outside our bedroom was breathtaking. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter Mario was a lovely gentleman who had lots of tales to tell. Isolabella is a beautiful place and Taormina can be reached by cable car which is just a few hundred metres from the hotel.

Althouth the hotel was in a beautiful location there were not many really good restaurants in the vicinity. You had to take the cable car to Taormina and as the last one back was at 8pm you needed to get a taxi back which could be quite expensive.

Good value for Taormina, which is otherwise very pricey. They did family rooms with sea views. Own entrance with own key. Private parking (at cost). Beautiful view. Excellent breakfast.

Neither of these points are the hotel's fault! However, it's at the beach, rather than in the old town, so the considerable cost of the cable-car has to be factored in as you may not want to do the steep walk up and down the cliff at night. Sharp shingle beach, so bring flip-flops or similar.

MBH is a family-run 1950's hotel with a dozen or so rooms just above the beach, A walk down a set of steps across the road takes you to the Mendolia Beach club, a seperate facility on the sand with beach chairs and a restaurant/bar. It is a five minute walk to the cable car which goes up to the town center of Taormina. This is one of the best values we experienced in Italy. The reason is the room. We loved our room. If you can handle a short flight of stairs after the topmost elevator floor, reserve room 129. It is a small corner suite with separate sitting room with complete kitchenette, bathroom and small bedroom. It offers a spectacular view of the bay from it's private balcony, with the bonus of a side patio complete with a dining table. This room is exactly what we envisioned when we planned our trip to the Amalfi coast and Taormina. Breakfast buffet was average to good. Typical variety of (too good) pastries, cereal, ham, cheese, etc. Hats off also to the ever-present, friendly and helpful Mario, who was a delight.

Like many rooms in Italy, the shower was small and drains very slowly and despite our bes efforts, always got the floor wet. The room has it's own 20 gallon (or so) hot water tank, so long showers for two people in a row are out. The sitting room has two day beds to sit on instead of a couch or comfortable chair. Understand the reason for this. Just saying...

A very well located hotel - all aspects were as per the reservation, staff heplful and friendly. Breakfast was adequate but no cooked food apart from a boiled egg.
